The main (front) label
Firstly your eye catches trade
mark title and enterprise logotype. These moments give us
information as for the beer manufacturer and the history of
brewery. The brewery emblem tells us about the year of oldest
brewery in Ukraine foundation – 1715; lion with the bocal in
his hands shows the territorial location of brewery and
underlines the traditions of beer drinking in Lviv.
"Lvivske" trade mark title is written with print in
style of XVIII century when the Lviv brewery appeared.
Premium
We see this inscription on the
bottom of the label. It means that the beer is of the highest
category. In fact, "Premium" is world known beer
categorization that points out the highest quality of the beer
preparing materials. It provides beer with high taste
characteristics according to International Quality Standard.
Alcohol 4,7 %
– it is a volume alcohol percentage;
in other words that is beer knock-downess. Light sorts have
from 3,7 to 4 % of ethyl alcohol volume content
(Lvivske "Light" and "1715"); beer with
medium hardness has 4,2-5 % of ethyl alcohol
("Premium", "Temne" and
"Vysokiy Zamok"). Sorts that have 7 % of ethyl alcohol
are thought to be strong ("Mitsne" and "Porter").
When the hardness is 5 % in 0,5 l. of beer the bottle contains
25 ml of pure alcohol received as the result of fermentation.
It is very interesting to underline that American beer
manufacturers draw balance alcohol percentage that transformed
into volume one by multiplication with coefficient of 1,26).
12 %
– that is beer density or percentage
of dry substances content in the primary wort before fermentation.
Light sorts of beer have density within 10-18 %, dark ones
have 12-20 %. Beer of medium density is good for easy drinking
and it slakes one's thirst quickly. And beer with more density
is stronger and more nourishing.
Necklace
This label is placed around bottle
neck. It is not of informative importance but is for beer
manufacturer identification.
Contrlabel
This label is placed on the
contrary bottle side as for the main label and has a lot of
important information.
Ingredients
That is one of the most important
beer characteristics. Even in Germany in 1516 there was passed a
law about beer clearness. According to that law there was
permission to make beer only from barley malt, hop and water.
Usage of other ingredients was strictly forbidden. This demand is
still of current importance nowadays. Brewers that want to be
leaders among beer-lovers prepare beer according to the classical
technology.
In the mixture of different beer
sorts you can meet rye or wheat malt, oats, rice, maize and
even honey and fruit-berry additions. All this is for extraordinarity.
To regret some brewers hide low taste qualities of the drink
thanks to different additions. That is why there is some piece
of advice: just check the professional and technological means
of brewers on the classical drink. It is absolutely impossible
to hide anything negative in all of the aspects: in odour,
in color, in taste.
Beer of good quality has to have
fresh and pure sweet and hop taste and pleasant odour. Theses
characteristics are predetermined by strict stickiness to
manufacturing technologies, by high level of brewery clearness
and by usage of selected natural materials like thoroughly
selected hop, malt that is received from barley of high quality,
and pure water. The water is put into multilevel filtration like
sandy filters that have special sand from Indian Ocean coasts.
"Lvivske" mixture also
has ascorbic acid (all known C vitamin) that promotes stable
quality of taste characteristics during the term of preservation.
Information about beer type.
Beer is divided into "light" and "dark"
ones according to the colour. Besides mentioned beer types
have their own taste and odour characteristics.
Filling bocal with light beer
you can limpidity, beer colour and cream like suds. Dark sorts
of beer have rich colour and brightly expressed bitterness.
Dark sorts have special kind of malt - caramel malt that is
prepared with the help of another technology that is opposite
to light malt preparation. This special kind of malt gives beer
nice caramel taste.
Pasteurized beer. This inscription
calls a lot of disputes. What is much better: pasteurized beer
or not pasteurized one? This question was solved a long time
ago on the West. To provide taste qualities of amber drink
preservation for longer periods manufacturers of famous beer
brands use late invention - short-term pasteurization. For the
period of 30 seconds while warming up (but not boiling!) barm
cells that could lead to the beer spoiling are neutralized.
Pasteurized beer can be saved in fridge for half of the year or more.
Food Value
This index is more of great
interest for women part of the humankind. The beer contains
from 40 to 50 cCal in 100 g. That is a strange fact that
different lemonades or colas have higher level of calories.
Beer practically does not have fat that influences person's weight.
That is why remember that it is impossible to get more weight
thanks to beer (of course, except the cases when you prefer to eat a lot).
Address and contact enterprises
Manufacturers who are sure in
their quality level aim at dialogue with consumers. That is
why "Lviv Brewery" Public Company despite complete
enterprise address points out the "hot" telephone
number ant electronic address on the label in case of any
questions, wishes or suggestions.
Certification Mark
Here should be mentioned that
according to the Law of Ukraine beer is not for obligatory
certification. Initiative of Lviv brewers is aimed at providing
consumers with additional production quality guaranties.
That is also important to pay
attention to the conditions of beer preserving mentioned at
the label and to the production date and the term of the late
convenience of the drink. These terms have to be mentioned on
the special place stood out against a background of color or
drawn with the special method of notching on the frame around
contrlabel.
