Some time ago when there were
not so many pills people cured ill leaver with beer and fern.
Sickness and epilepsies, tachycardia and convulsions were
alleviated with beer and lavender and mustard usage. Beer with
sage was against cough and illness of respiratory tract. There
are evidences in the archive chronicles as for the monks who
built Lviv brewery in 1715 that they were taking their beer to
the city hospital till the middle of the XIX century; this beer
was prescribed to the patients as the tonic vitamin drink.
The leading brewer of the
enterprise Yuriy Rohovyi says: "When we look at the receipts
and technology of "Lvivske" beer preparation
(it is done from malt, hop, barm and water) there is nothing
negative for our health. The malt is reach for carbohydrates,
protein and minerals. And everything in the considerable quantity
is transmitted into the drink."

Recent investigations in
the Munich Technical University has proved once again that
vitamins of B-group present in beer are necessary for nervous
system. They improve heart functioning and stimulate metabolism.
German scientists have investigated that minerals influence body
muscles positively, intensify ferments and balance hormones.
Copper and iron promote circulation of the blood, phosphorus
influences metabolism, magnesium make heart muscle strong,
zinc is necessary for insulin production, chloride cures gums.

Medical Science, Head of Hygiene and Nutrition Laboratory of
Institute of Hygiene and Medical Sciences after O. Marzeyev,
Ukrainian Academy of Medical Science, says:
– Of course, it is
useful for human organism to use beer. The main beer value
is the content of B-group vitamin complex. That is known that
this group of vitamins supports development of biochemical
processes in the human organism. I think 0,5 l of beer per
day will be useful for human organism.
It has appeared (and it is
proved by fundamental medical investigations) that temperate
beer consuming decreases risk of coronary heart disease to 24,7 %.
A bocal of beer per day can increase "good level" of cholesterol to 4 %
that prevents from diseases of cardiovascular system.
Physicians recommend beer in
case of bad appetite, nutrition disorder and kidney diseases.
Western physician's investigations prove that beer promotes salt
elimination from kidneys; 1 or 2/3 of beer glass make stomach
dry and release it from slime excess in the cases of most kinds
of gastritis. If a person has urine-stone illness then excessive
beer usage can destroy it and call kidney gripes.
Active substances transmitted
into beer from hop have sedative effect, brake bacterium growth
and reproduction. Since ancient times we know that only pillow
with dry hop leaves can help in cases of insomnia. Malt is used

on diet; they can make their diet more pleasant. This product
contains little of natrium, proteins and no fat, which is

estimate that life duration of those who drink beer in moderate
quantities is longer in comparison to those who do not use alcohol.
In medieval cosmetology beer
was used as mask for skin rejuvenescence. Even today cosmetic
salons offer beer and barm masks.
Suds of fresh beer help to
eliminate wrinkles. Beer masks influence fat skin positively,
they increase its elastic qualities, improve blood circulation,
decrease fat formation and diminish interstice. To one of the
most famous masks belongs the egg one: egg yolk is whisked
with beer; this substance is laid on the face.
Beer bathes can regulate
perspiration. In sauna or bath beer is poured into hot stones
because beer smoke is useful for skin and organism in total.
The best mean to make some
hairstyle is beer. Regular hair rinsing out with beer after
washing it can eliminate dandruff and give your hair incredible

It is important to remember
that everything is good in the appropriate quantities. German
scientists have investigated that beer alcoholism is developing
slower than the vodka ones but is of the same complication as
for the treatment. Women should be very careful. According to
Munich Technical University investigations alcohol is decomposing
much slower in the women organism. As a result the greatest part
of it gets into blood.
Beer abusing even useful
substances can make harm. Excessiveness of potassium and water
can strengthen the process of natrium and chlorine removal
from kidneys. It can lead to demineralization in the organism.
But moderate beer usage brings you pleasure and health.
What is moderate beer usage
and where are its limits? Doctor Scovenbourgh in the brochure
"Advantages of beer moderate usage" published by
International "Beer & Health" Association says as
following: "Moderate usage is such a usage not restricted
by your health, society where you live and your duties before
the family and friends. From the health point of view that is
1 or 3 doses of alcohol per day for men and 1 or 2 doses for
women." (1 dose is 250g of beer of medium strength).
– I associate beer
with nice humor that is always urgent and gives satisfaction.
From the medical point of view I think it could be related
to antidepressant medicine first of all. Effect of the amber
drink is not in the alcohol influence but in the process of
drinking.
